Yummy Hits Pure Miami
Florida girlies, it’s time to breathe a little easier next time you fill up — because gas prices are finally doing something nice for once.
According to AAA, the state’s average for regular unleaded just dipped 12 cents this past week, landing at $2.92 per gallon — the lowest it’s been in five months. Yup, you read that right. May feels like forever ago, and so does paying over three bucks a gallon.
It’s not just a Florida thing either — the whole country’s seeing a drop in fuel costs. Crude oil prices have been sliding for the past two weeks, with U.S. crude now sitting around $58.90 a barrel. Basically, there’s more gas in the tanks than people are using, so prices are finally falling (a rare W for our wallets).
If you’re around Tampa Bay, you’re especially in luck — GasBuddy says the average there is $2.87 per gallon, down 14 cents from last week. Some counties are seeing even lower numbers:
Hernando: $2.78 👀
Manatee: $2.82
Pasco: $2.85
Sarasota: $2.86
Pinellas & Hillsborough: around $2.91–$2.92
AAA still wants everyone to drive smart and keep those savings going — like combining errands (a.k.a. plan your Target + Starbucks + Trader Joe’s run strategically), taking it easy on the gas pedal, and not turning your car into a storage unit. Oh, and paying with cash can sometimes get you a lower price per gallon.
So yeah, for once, filling up your tank doesn’t have to feel like a personal attack on your bank account. Florida might be hot, but at least gas prices are finally cooling off.
