The City of Fort Lauderdale is ready to host the 66th annual Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS), solidifying its title as the “Yachting Capital of the World.” Set to be the world’s largest in-water boat show, the event will take over the city from October 29 to November 2.
The boat show is an economic powerhouse for South Florida.
Visitors & Exhibitors: The five-day event is expected to draw over 100,000 visitors and more than 1,000 exhibitors from around the globe.
Show Footprint: FLIBS will span nearly 90 acres across multiple marinas and venues, including the Bahia Mar Yachting Center, Las Olas Marina, Pier Sixty-Six, and the Broward County Convention Center.
Economic Impact: City officials estimate the annual show generates nearly $1.8 billion in economic impact and supports approximately 100,000 jobs—a huge boost for the local economy.
Attendees are advised to plan for congestion, as the show’s sheer size will affect local traffic and parking.
High-Traffic Areas: Expect heavier-than-usual traffic near major venues such as Bahia Mar, Las Olas Marina, the Broward County Convention Center, and Pier Sixty-Six.
Special Parking: Special $30 daily parking rates will be in effect at the North Beach Parking Lot, Las Olas Garage, and for on-street parking along Vistamar Street to Las Olas Boulevard between October 30 and November 2.
To ensure a safe environment for the massive crowd, Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue and Police will have enhanced ground and marine patrols, along with specialized crowd management measures throughout the event.
Visitors should also be aware of several other major events happening in the city concurrently:
The Pickleball World Cup at The Fort.
A Kodak Black concert at the War Memorial Auditorium on November 1.
The popular Sunday Jazz Brunch at Esplanade Park on November 2.
The combination of FLIBS and these major events will make for an exceptionally busy—and exciting—week in Fort Lauderdale.
