Music mogul and entrepreneur Pharrell Williams has been officially honored with the Key to Miami-Dade County in recognition of his significant impact on the community.

Williams received the prestigious award alongside Felecia Hatcher, CEO of his non-profit initiative, Black Ambition, during the 5th Annual Black Ambition Demo Day at the Sacred Space Miami on Friday night, November 14. Miami-Dade Mayor Daniella Levine Cava presented the key, recognizing Williams’s dedication to closing the opportunity and wealth gap through entrepreneurship via Black Ambition. Founded by Williams in 2020, the non-profit supports promising Black and Hispanic entrepreneurs.

The Mayor also acknowledged Williams’s contributions to Miami’s vibrant nightlife scene through his popular hot spots, Strawberry Moon and Swan.

Before the key presentation, Williams and Hatcher hosted a high-profile gathering that united artists, rising founders, and investors to champion entrepreneurship. The evening also featured a fireside chat moderated by Hatcher, with the Grammy Award-winning artist and Mellody Hobson, President and Co-CEO of Ariel Investments, where Pharrell discussed his views on politics and shared his ultimate goal for Black Ambition.
