During a concert in his hometown of Memphis on Friday night (January 19), Justin Timberlake showcased his latest solo material with the live debut of the song “Selfish.” This marks his first release since his fifth studio album, 2018’s “Man of the Woods.”

In the smooth R&B track, JT croons, “So if I get jealous, I can’t help it/ I want every bit of you, I guess I’m selfish.” He reflects on the emotional toll, admitting, “It’s bad for my mental, but I can’t fight it.” Adding to the excitement, Timberlake also treated fans to a trailer for his upcoming sixth album, revealing the official title as “Everything I Thought It Was.” The revelation follows a cryptic Instagram teaser posted on Wednesday with the caption “EITIW,” prompting fans to embark on an Easter egg hunt to decipher the acronym.

A trail of clues hinted at Justin Timberlake’s forthcoming solo music, commencing with the artist clearing his Instagram in early January. Alongside a mid-week Instagram teaser, Timberlake’s upcoming appearances include being a guest on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon next Thursday and serving as the musical guest on Saturday Night Live alongside host Dakota Johnson on Jan. 27. While the official release date for “Selfish” is yet to be announced, you can pre-save the track on Spotify.

In September, Timberlake joined forces with *NSYNC to release “Better Place” for the Trolls Band Together soundtrack, marking the group’s first musical collaboration since 2002 when the Neptunes remix of “Girlfriend,” featuring Nelly, was released. During the same month, Timberlake also collaborated with longtime partners Timbaland and Nelly Furtado on the track “Keep Going Up!”
