Selena Gomez unveils a playful and flirty side in her latest single, “Love On,” a departure from her previous breakup anthem, “Single Soon.”
Released on Thursday (February 22), along with an accompanying music video, the track captures the upbeat and flirtatious essence of the song. The video opens with a French narrator discussing love, leading to various scenes of couples kissing, culminating in Gomez’s appearance, dressed elegantly in a hot pink ensemble while holding a French bulldog.
The video boasts vibrant colors and captivating visuals, including Gomez in a glamorous black dress and hat, reclining on a green couch reminiscent of the artwork behind her. Another scene features her surrounded by dancing ballerinas in white tutus, while she herself wears a stunning white dress and striking red pointe shoes.
In the verses, Gomez adopts a different vocal style, opting for a more speak-singing approach as she expresses her desire to lavish affection on her new partner. The chorus is equally infectious and lively, with Gomez joyfully singing about showering her partner with love, “Wait ’til I turn my love on/ I’m no cheap thrill/ I’m a rollercoaster ride, baby jump on/ Come on, come on/ Cause baby if you can’t tell, you’re what I wanna love on.”
The video concludes with Gomez enjoying a dreamy French Riviera vacation, lounging in a hotel room overlooking the coast in a white robe and matching sunglasses, savoring breakfast while gazing out at the sunny sea.
