Cardi B emerged from hiatus to release her latest single on the first day of Women’s History Month. Titled “Like What,” the freestyle showcases her signature boldness over a beat sampling Missy Elliott’s “She’s a B*tch,” produced by Timbaland. Directed by her husband Offset, the accompanying music video pays homage to the iconic styles of both Missy Elliott and Lil’ Kim, featuring Cardi in a range of vibrant looks and seductive poses reminiscent of the rap legends’ classic visuals.

In her latest track, Cardi B seems to address former friends who have changed their allegiance. Some speculate that she could be subtly referencing her past collaborator JT, who has since befriended Cardi’s rival Nicki Minaj. There are also theories that Cardi may be taking a swipe at Minaj regarding her recent Billboard Hot 100 achievement.

“Got your first pair of Ricks, now you stylin’? / Everything you got, I had five years before,” Bardi raps.

The song is slated to be featured on Cardi B’s highly-anticipated sophomore album, scheduled for release this year. At the conclusion of her new music video, she hints at the imminent arrival of her album with a message that reads, “This is just the beginning… stay tuned,” accompanied by a preview of her next single.

“First, that b***h hate me, then this b***h hate me/And somehow, they link up and they become friends, like, how?” Cardi B raps. “B***h, pipe down/Moodboard, all y’all imitatin’ my style.”
