Shawn Mendes hinted at his upcoming album being “coming soon” while talking to fans

Shawn Mendes is making a return! The wait might finally be over. Yesterday (May 11), fans spotted the “Heartbeat” singer on the streets. After snapping some quick photos with Mendes, they couldn’t resist asking about his next studio album’s status.

“It’s coming soon,” he said. “Actually, we just finished it like 10 minutes ago.”

Mendes’ previous release, Wonder, will mark its fourth anniversary this December. Not to be too critical (but speaking on behalf of his fans for a moment), it’s about time he returns to the studio. In March, Mendes teased an unreleased song, but there’s been no formal announcement or upload to any streaming services yet. So, his fans are eager and prepared to show their support. After Mendes’ sudden tour cancellation in 2022, his loyal fanbase believes he has some catching up to do. At the very least, dropping something to keep them engaged until the full-length album is ready would be appreciated.
