Beyoncé, the global superstar known for her powerhouse vocals and entrepreneurial spirit, has ventured into the world of spirits with the launch of her new whiskey brand, SirDavis. This latest project is described as a passion endeavor that has been “years in the making,” according to a press release distributed on Tuesday.
As a known enthusiast of Japanese whiskey, Beyoncé initiated a collaboration with Moët Hennessy to create a unique flavor profile that aligns with her whiskey ideals. Priced at $89, SirDavis is now available for pre-order on ReserveBar, GoPuff, and other on-demand delivery platforms, with the official launch set for September.
SirDavis is more than just a new whiskey on the market; it is a deeply personal project for Beyoncé. According to the brand’s materials, her paternal great-grandfather, Hogue, was a farmer and moonshiner in the American South during Prohibition. He would reportedly hide whiskey bottles in hollowed cedar trees for friends and family to discover and enjoy. These family stories have fueled Beyoncé’s sense of destiny in creating the SirDavis brand, making it feel like a natural extension of her family legacy.
In addition to crafting the whiskey’s flavor, Beyoncé has played a significant role in the bottle’s design, providing what the brand describes as her “visionary artistic direction.” The bottle features ribbed glass, a black medallion, and a bronzed horse—a nod to her Texas roots. Fittingly, SirDavis is finished, blended, and bottled in Texas, with the brand’s headquarters located in Beyoncé’s hometown of Houston.
“I’ve always been drawn to the power and confidence I feel when drinking quality whiskey and wanted to invite more people to experience that feeling,” Beyoncé shared in a rare public statement. “When I discovered that my great-grandfather had been a moonshine man, it felt like my love for whiskey was fated. SirDavis is a way for me to pay homage to him, uniting us through a new shared legacy. In partnering with Moët Hennessy, we have crafted a delicious American whiskey that respects tradition but also empowers people to experience something new and unique in the category.”
As fans and whiskey enthusiasts alike await the official release of SirDavis, it’s clear that Beyoncé’s latest venture is a blend of tradition, family heritage, and innovative craftsmanship.
