Sharing your Disney+ password with friends or fam? Things are about to change. Disney+ is rolling out new paid account-sharing options, letting users officially share their account with people outside their household—for a price, of course.
The new features are now live in the U.S., Canada, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Europe, and parts of the Asia-Pacific region after being tested in select markets earlier this summer.
Here’s the deal: Your Disney+ subscription is meant to be shared only within your Household—aka the people who live with you. But if you’ve got friends or fam outside your house who are borrowing your account, they’ll now need to either:
The catch? You can only add one Extra Member per account, and this option isn’t available if you’re on a Disney Bundle or if you’re billed through a third-party service (like your phone provider). If you’re traveling outside your Household, no worries—you can still access your account with a one-time passcode sent to your email. 🔑
If someone’s moving out of your account but doesn’t want to lose their carefully curated watchlist and settings, Disney+ lets you transfer their profile to a new subscription or add it as an Extra Member to keep everything intact. 📂
So, whether you’re adding your bestie to your account or finally telling them to get their own, Disney+ has made it pretty simple to manage who gets access. Just be ready to shell out a few extra bucks! 💸
What do you think? Will you be paying for Extra Members or keeping things within your Household? Let us know! 👀
