Their wedding took place in Des Allemands,  The ceremony featured Del Rey in a white dress and Dufrene in a dark suit. This union has attracted attention due to the couple’s contrasting lifestyles—Del Rey being a world-renowned music artist, and Dufrene working as a guide for Airboat Tours by Arthur Matherne, which offers swamp tours featuring wildlife like alligators.

The couple’s relationship first became public in August 2024 when they were spotted together at the Reading Festival in Britain. However, their acquaintance goes back to at least 2019, when Del Rey mentioned Dufrene’s swamp tours on social media. Del Rey returned to Louisiana multiple times over the years, including a notable visit to a local diner, Tic-Toc Cafe, which sparked interest among New Orleans locals.
