Last night in New Orleans, Taylor Swift pulled off yet another surprise that sent the Eras Tour crowd absolutely spiraling. Decked out in a vibrant orange dress, Taylor took the mic at the Caesars Superdome and hinted that she was about to change things up. She wasn’t just sticking to her setlist—she was about to perform a song by none other than her friend Sabrina Carpenter. Yep, you read that right.
Taylor hyped up the crowd of 65,000, saying, “I think tonight I’m going to do something completely different,” before she strummed the opening lines of Carpenter’s track, “Espresso.” After letting the crowd sing along for a few lines, Taylor paused, smiling. “So you really love that song as much as I do?” she asked the audience, totally feeding off their energy.
Then, in the ultimate plot twist, Taylor whipped out her phone, dialed up Sabrina on speaker, and told her to get down to the stadium ASAP. “Can you come down to the stadium real quick? Ballpark how long would that take you?” Taylor teased.
Sabrina didn’t waste a second. Within moments, she was strutting down the stage in a chic white dress, and the two sang “Espresso” together, harmonizing like absolute queens. Sabrina hyped up the crowd after the first chorus, yelling, “Holy s***, New Orleans!”
Taylor didn’t stop there. She gave Sabrina the spotlight to perform lines from her own songs, before bringing her back for a mashup with “Is It Over Now?” from 1989 (Taylor’s Version). The two wrapped it up with “Please, Please, Please” from Sabrina’s latest album, giving fans an epic, one-night-only experience.
Swift wrapped it up with her classic humor: “She had literally one day off. She’s on tour! This is crazy that she came to perform for us. Please, give it up for Sabrina Carpenter!”
The crowd’s energy was off the charts as Sabrina disappeared backstage, and Taylor closed out with a Midnights and 1989piano mashup. With just one more NOLA show before wrapping up the tour in Vancouver, Taylor’s left fans wondering, “What’s next?”
Let’s be real—whatever it is, it’s gonna be iconic.
