Lorde just broke the internet (again) by unveiling the cover and release date for her upcoming album — and it’s called ‘Virgin’. Yep. Let that simmer. 😮‍💨

It’s been three whole years since her last drop, Solar Power, but sis is coming back June 27 with something way more visceral. Like, “x-ray-of-an-IUD” level visceral. No, literally — that’s the album cover: a medical-style crotch x-ray with jeans and a visible IUD. She’s not playing.

In a message posted to her website, Lorde said Virgin is “100% written in blood” and described it as “raw,” “primal,” and a full dive into her femininity — not the cute kind, but the messy, emotional, sweaty, angelic-demon-core kind. 🥵🩸🪽

“The colour of the album is clear. Like bathwater, windows, ice, spit,” she wrote.
“I was trying to see myself, all the way through.”

The album is produced by Lorde herself alongside Jim-E Stack, with collabs from Fabiana Palladino, Buddy Ross, Dan Nigro (hello, SOUR), Andrew Aged, and Devonté Hynes — a lineup that screams ethereal breakdowns and ghost-in-the-bathroom-mirror vibes. 🧼👻

She added, “I’m proud and scared of this album. There’s nowhere to hide.” And honestly? Same. The transparency — both literal and emotional — is about to cut.

Lorde’s Virgin era looks like it’s about to unearth a whole new layer of truth and touch every nerve in the process. We’re not ready, but we’re absolutely hitting pre-save.
