By now, we all know Taylor Swift isn’t just a pop star — she’s a literal force of nature. And on Friday, she basically dropped a bombshell that sent Swifties (and honestly, the entire internet) into a spiral: she finally owns all of her music.Yep. All of it. Everything. From “Tim McGraw” to “Anti-Hero” — it’s officially hers.

In a heartfelt note posted to her site, Taylor wrote: “All of the music I’ve ever made now belongs to me.” BRB, crying forever. 😭

A Full-Circle Slay

Let’s rewind real quick: Taylor’s first six albums were originally released under Big Machine Records (aka the Scooter Braun era that we do not claim). After a messy public fight and some hella shady resales of her masters, Taylor took matters into her own hands and started rerecording her old albums as “Taylor’s Version” — a move that’s been part revenge arc, part artistic rebirth, and full-on cultural domination.

Now, she’s announced that she bought her full catalogue back from private equity firm Shamrock Capital. We don’t know the exact number she dropped on it, but let’s just say… the girl’s got Eras Tour money. 💸💅

“The Best Things That Have Ever Been Mine…”

Taylor’s post to fans was classic Swift — emotional, poetic, and deeply personal: “I can’t thank you enough for helping to reunite me with this art that I have dedicated my life to, but have never owned until now.” Cue 100,000 TikToks with “Mine (Taylor’s Version)” in the background.

Meanwhile, Shamrock Capital responded with a classy “We’re thrilled for Taylor,” and even Scooter Braun (surprisingly) said, “I am happy for her.” Growth? Maybe. Or PR. Either way, it’s giving closure.

So What’s Next?

Swifties have been on high alert for Reputation (Taylor’s Version), especially after “Look What You Made Me Do (TV)” popped up in The Handmaid’s Tale, Wilderness, and The Dynasty: New England Patriots. She’s also fully rerecorded her self-titled debut album and says she “really loves how it sounds now.”

But in her latest message, she teased that both debut and Reputation “can still have their moments to reemerge when the time is right.” Translation: she’s definitely sitting on them and waiting to snatch all our wigs again. 💥

TL;DR:

  • Taylor Swift now owns 100% of her music (!!!)

  • She bought back her first six albums from Shamrock Capital

  • “Taylor’s Version” re-recordings will still continue — debut and Reputation are in the vault

  • We’re not just in her era… we’re living in the Swiftiverse

She’s not just rewriting her past — she’s owning it. And we’re so here for it. 🫶
