Florida Is Basically an Oven Right Now: Triple-Digit Temps & Major Heatwave Vibes

Florida just said, “let’s turn it up” — and we’re not talking about the party scene. The Sunshine State is currently in full-on heatwave mode, and it’s giving literal hella hot.

On Tuesday, temps across Florida soared well into the high 80s and 90s, with heat indexes making it feel like triple digits. TL;DR? It’s too damn hot.

Let’s talk numbers:

Tallahassee hit a brutal 96°F
Crestview felt the worst with 98°F
Pensacola, Panama City, Jacksonville, and Gainesville weren’t far behind, chilling (not really) in the mid-90s
Tampa and Orlando gave slightly less-scorching energy at 91°F
Miami, Fort Lauderdale, and Naples all hovered around 88–91°F
Palm Beach stayed the coolest at 87°F (a win is a win)

But don’t be fooled — the humidity turned these temps into straight-up sweat central. The Florida Panhandle was slapped with a heat advisory, thanks to “feels like” temps crossing the 100°F mark. It’s giving sauna with no exit.

The CDC is warning people (especially kids, the elderly, and anyone with health issues) to take this seriously. This kind of heat can lead to heat exhaustion or even heat stroke. Not cute.

Also: Mother Nature might not be done with us. The National Weather Service in Tallahassee said storms and even isolated damaging winds could roll in later in the day. So basically, it’s either burning hot or stormy chaos. Pick your fighter.
