South Florida communities showed their deep appreciation and support for those who have served the United States, hosting a variety of patriotic events across the region in observance of Veterans Day.
From moving ceremonies to lively parades, the area was filled with tributes honoring the courage and sacrifice of veterans.
Davie Annual Ceremony: The City of Davie hosted its yearly ceremony, featuring guest speakers and an honor guard. A moment of silence was observed to acknowledge veterans’ sacrifices. “We’re so honored to be able to support all our veterans in every way that we can,” one speaker noted.
Coconut Grove Parade: The city’s annual parade saw active participation from students representing 16 different high schools, marching to show their support.
Miami Beach Parades: Ten city streets were shut down to accommodate several patriotic parades, which featured military and veteran groups alongside various musical and performance acts.
North Miami Beach Ceremony: Community members gathered to recognize veterans for their dedication and service. Daniella Pierre, president of the NAACP’s Miami-Dade branch, emphasized sustained support, stating, “We stand with veterans, not just on today, but 365 for the service they have done for all.” Pierre stressed the importance of continually honoring those who have advanced the United States.
This year’s celebrations also included a special acknowledgement to commemorate the 250th birthdays of the U.S. Army, Navy, and Marine Corps.
