A staggering pricing error on the Ticketmaster platform briefly caused ticket prices for singer Olivia Dean’s 2026 show at the TD Garden in Boston to inflate by hundreds of dollars.

During a recent presale event for “The Art of Loving Tour,” fans attempting to purchase seats for the concert were confronted with prices that soared as high as $753.45. This unprecedented spike led to immediate confusion and viral criticism on social media, with many fans speculating about surge pricing or automated bot activity buying out the venue. A screenshot of a single balcony seat in the Boston venue showing the inflated price quickly spread online.

Ticketmaster later issued a public clarification, admitting the massive discrepancy was due to a “typo” that multiplied the intended cost by over 1,300%. The company stated that the correct, intended “all in” price for the affected seats was a reasonable $53.45. The ticketing giant confirmed that the error was corrected and, crucially, that any fans who may have paid the exorbitant inflated price were being automatically refunded the difference. However, the incident fueled renewed frustration among consumers regarding the platform’s reliability. The combination of the dramatic price error, the subsequent massive virtual queues—with one screenshot reportedly showing 124,272 people in line for a different date—and a quick sell-out of initial dates, led many fans to believe the ticketing system was still being overwhelmed by scalpers and bots, despite the corrected pricing. For many, the typo provided a stark, visible example of the technical failures plaguing the modern concert ticket buying experience.
