Lana Del Rey is back with a new chapter in her long-awaited country era. In a series of candid updates shared to her Instagram Stories, the singer-songwriter announced that her next single, “White Feather-Hawk Tail Deer Hunter,” will be released this Tuesday, February 17th.
Described by Del Rey as her “favorite song” and “the one I’ve been waiting for,” the track serves as the third official glimpse into her tenth studio album, now titled Stove
The new single appears to be a deeply personal collaboration. Del Rey revealed that the track was co-written with her husband, Jeremy Dufrene, her sister Caroline “Chuck” Grant, and her brother-in-law Jason Pickens.
On the production side, Del Rey reunited with long-time collaborator Jack Antonoff and Drew Erickson. According to the singer, the team “finally found that magical chord that was missing” after months of refining the sound.
Production: Jack Antonoff, Drew Erickson, and Lana Del Rey.
Mixing: Dean Reid and Laura Sisk.
Visuals: A “homemade” music video, edited by Del Rey herself, will accompany the release.
The journey to this album has been a winding road for fans. Originally announced in early 2024 as Lasso, the project was delayed multiple times and underwent several title changes, including The Right Person Will Stay, before arriving at its current title, Stove.
Del Rey addressed the release timeline for the full album, explaining that physical production is the current bottleneck. “Vinyl takes three months,” she told fans, “so [the album is coming] in three months plus two weeks. It could be give or take.” This timeline suggests a late May or June 2026 release for the full LP.
Following the 2025 releases of “Henry, Come On” and “Bluebird,” “White Feather-Hawk Tail Deer Hunter” is expected to lean further into the “Southern Gothic” and country-folk aesthetics Del Rey has been teasing. Early reports and leaks suggest the track is an ambitious, long-form piece, with some sources clocking the song at over eight minutes. As the “Manhattanization” of her sound shifts toward the bayous of Louisiana and the hills of Tennessee, this Tuesday’s release marks the most concrete step yet toward the official Stove era.
