Ed Sheeran has called out fellow singer-songwriter Lewis Capaldi after the latter got a massive music festival crowd to say some nasty things about the “Eyes Closed” singer. Sheeran took to Instagram this week to share footage of the hilarious moment in which Capaldi told the crowd at BBC Radio One’s Big Weekend in Scotland, “Ed is not here today… yeah, f–k ’em! Everybody on the count of three say ‘F–k you, Ed!’” The crowd then eagerly obeyed as Capaldi cracked up at his own antics onstage.

After the video of Capaldi’s festival antics circulated, Sheeran makes an appearance in the footage to deliver his own message. Addressing the camera, Sheeran exclaims, “I thought we were friends, Lewis! I genuinely thought we were friends, you cheeky fellow!” Sheeran then bursts into laughter, revealing that the apparent feud between the two stars is all in good fun.

Both Sheeran and Capaldi have busy touring schedules this summer. Sheeran, embarking on his first North American tour in approximately five years, offers fans an opportunity to experience his music in a more intimate setting. Alongside the stadium dates, Sheeran has announced a series of theatre shows where he will perform his album Subtract in its entirety. Meanwhile, Capaldi recently concluded his North American tour in May and is set to continue his world tour with upcoming stops in Switzerland, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, and various other destinations in the coming months.
