Megan Thee Stallion recently appears to have unveiled the true cause behind her breakup with her former boyfriend, Pardison Fontaine, which occurred a few months ago.
On Friday, November 3, the Houston native released her latest single, “Cobra,” a production co-crafted by herself, Bankroll Got It, Derrick Milano, and Shawn “Source” Jarrett. In the midst of the song, Meg contemplates the lingering negative experiences that continue to unsettle her, encompassing the loss of her parents and her recent separation from Pardi. A particular line in the song suggests the possibility of her former partner’s infidelity in her own bed.
Megan Thee Stallion and Pardison Fontaine embarked on their relationship in 2020, shortly after she survived a gunshot incident involving Tory Lanez. They appeared to be the embodiment of a power couple for nearly three years until signs of trouble began to emerge. In February, fans noticed that Meg had unfollowed Pardi on Instagram. Despite an affectionate poem Pardi had composed and shared in her honor, Meg essentially confirmed their separation when she was seen in an intimate moment with Inter Milan player Romelu Lukaku at a wedding for his teammate Lautaro Martinez.
In addition to the song, Meg also treated her audience to a compelling video for “Cobra.” Within the video, she symbolically sheds the remnants of her past and opens the way for what lies ahead.
