Welcome to the latest update on this week’s new music releases!
In celebration of the 10th anniversary since her game-changing self-titled album release in 2013, Beyoncé has now made “Grown Woman” available for streaming. Initially hinted at in early 2013 as the potential lead single for her upcoming album, this eclectic track produced by Timbaland was previously exclusively part of the bonus music video on Self-Titled. Now, it’s finally accessible for fans to listen to.
Additionally, expect new singles this week from pop sensation AJ Mitchell (“Passionate”), James Arthur (“Sleep Walking”), and Celeste (“There Will Come A Day”).
In the realm of albums, SZA is gearing up for the highly anticipated deluxe edition of her second album, SOS. However, the project has now expanded beyond a mere deluxe edition, taking on the title “Lana.” Described as an entirely new body of work, it’s anticipated to include the fan-favorite track “PSA.”
Renee Rapp has marked a remarkable year with her debut album, “Snow Angel.” As she rounds off this successful chapter, she’s gearing up for an exciting 2024, headlining as Regina George in the new “Mean Girls” musical film. To kickstart the new year, a fresh track from the film’s soundtrack titled “Not My Fault” is set to drop tomorrow. This vibrant queer-pop anthem features a stellar guest appearance from Megan Thee Stallion.
This week’s new albums include releases from Kanye West and Ty Dolla Sign with “Vultures.” Additionally, there are two soundtracks from upcoming films: the musical re-imagining of The Color Purple featuring Halle Bailey and American Idol alum Fantasia, and Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget.
