Kelly Clarkson, currently not seeking love, prioritizes self-development before embarking on a new relationship. Speaking with guest Shannen Doherty on the December 20 episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show, the “Stronger” singer shared her insights on romance. Following her divorce from ex-husband Brandon Blackstock in 2022, Clarkson expressed the importance of focusing on personal growth before considering a new romantic chapter, according to People.
“I believe I need to focus more on self-improvement within a relationship to ensure I prioritize my own well-being alongside my partner,” she expressed, acknowledging the challenges of divorce by stating, “It’s tough because you envisioned spending a lifetime with that person.”
Apart from her desire for personal growth, Clarkson is relishing her single status and is “currently relishing in the phase of self-discovery.” Recently relocating to New York City with her two children, 9-year-old River Rose and 7-year-old Remington Alexander, she initially had doubts but has found contentment since then.
“In October, I initially had reservations, but I’ve come to genuinely embrace it, especially seeing how much my kids adore it,” she explained. “I feel a sense of liberation. That change was truly necessary.”
