Ariana Grande’s track ‘Yes, And?’ makes an impressive debut, claiming the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart

Ariana Grande’s latest track, “Yes, And?,” storms in at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, marking the pop superstar’s eighth career chart-topper.

This song serves as the lead single from Grande’s upcoming seventh studio album, “Eternal Sunshine,” scheduled for release on March 8 (announced on Jan. 17). Grande collaborated with Max Martin and ILYA in writing and producing “Yes, And?.” Notably, Max Martin makes history by surpassing George Martin, securing the most No. 1s among producers on the chart, with a total of 24.

In the realm of Hot 100 achievements, Max Martin also ties with John Lennon for the second-most No. 1s among writers, boasting 26 each, following Paul McCartney’s 32. Alongside this success, 21 Savage debuts two songs in the Hot 100’s top 10: “Redrum” at No. 5 and “Née-nah” with Travis Scott and Metro Boomin at No. 10. Both tracks are from 21 Savage’s album “American Dream,” which claims the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 albums chart.

The Hot 100 incorporates U.S. streaming, radio airplay, and sales data. “Yes, And?” amassed 27.2 million streams, 24.8 million radio airplay audience impressions, and 53,000 sales (including 41,000 digital downloads) in the tracking week from Jan. 12 to 18, according to Luminate.

Grande’s single secures the top position on both the Streaming Songs and Digital Song Sales charts, landing her fifth and ninth leaders in these categories, respectively. The track also debuts at No. 28 on Radio Songs. With 14 digital versions available for purchase at 69 cents each by the end of the tracking week, including various mixes and instrumental versions, “Yes, And?” becomes the 1,162nd No. 1 song in the Hot 100’s 65-year history and the 74th to debut at the summit.

This achievement marks Ariana Grande’s eighth Hot 100 No. 1, with “Yes, And?” being her first since “Die for You” with The Weeknd in March of the previous year and her first solo No. 1 since “Positions” in November 2020. Grande’s sixth No. 1 debut ties her with Taylor Swift for the most among women, while Drake leads all acts with nine chart-topping entrances.
