Jacob Elordi is under investigation after an alleged altercation with an Australian linked to a popular MAFS meme page

Jacob Elordi is currently under investigation by police after allegedly assaulting a KIIS FM radio producer in Australia over the weekend.

On Saturday, February 3, the Euphoria actor was reportedly involved in a physical altercation with Joshua Fox, a TikTok creator and producer for KIIS FM’s The Kyle & Jackie O Show, one of Australia’s largest radio programs.

Fox detailed the incident on The Kyle & Jackie O Show on February 5, explaining that he approached Elordi outside a hotel in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs and, as reported by Variety, asked Elordi “if he could have some of his bathwater for Jackie O for her birthday” while recording the interaction.

The question refers to a viral scene from Elordi’s film Saltburn, where Barry Keoghan’s character slurps Elordi’s character’s bathwater from around the tub drain. This scene led to the creation of a scented candle — which also went viral — and prompted reactions from various other celebrities and Elordi himself during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in mid-January.

Variety is reporting, Elordi requested Fox to “stop filming and delete the footage,” leading to an alleged argument. Fox explained on The Kyle & Jackie O Show’s recent broadcast, “I refuse to because I feel uncomfortable right now and this is the only evidence.” Fox claimed that Elordi then pushed him against the wall with his hands on his throat.

The Daily Mail Australia reported that police have obtained CCTV footage of the alleged assault. The New South Wales Police provided a statement to Variety on Monday regarding their investigation: “Officers attached to Eastern Beaches Police Area Command are investigating after a man was allegedly assaulted outside a hotel in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs. Police were told about 3:30 p.m. on Saturday 3 February 2024, a 32-year-old man was allegedly assaulted by a 26-year-old man. The man did not sustain any injuries. Inquiries into the incident are continuing.”

Representatives for Jacob Elordi did not immediately respond to Teen Vogue’s request for comment.

The Australian actor has had an impressive run over the past few months, including hosting Saturday Night Live and receiving critical acclaim for his roles in Saltburn and Sofia Coppola’s Priscilla. Elordi is currently preparing to portray Frankenstein’s monster in an upcoming Guillermo del Toro adaptation.
