Adele Confirms Engagement

Adele has cleared up the engagement rumors once and for all! During a Munich concert on August 9, the 36-year-old singer responded to a fan’s proposal by saying, “I can’t marry you, I’m already getting married,” while showing her left hand. Although she wasn’t wearing a ring at the time, she had recently been seen in London with a pear-shaped diamond on that finger.

This confirmation comes after months of speculation about her relationship with sports executive Rich Paul. Adele gushed about Paul in an August 2022 Elle interview, saying, “I’ve never been in love like this. I’m obsessed with him.”

Adele and Rich Paul first sparked dating rumors in July 2021 when they were spotted courtside at an NBA Finals game. Their basketball outings soon became a regular part of their relationship, and they made their Instagram debut in September.

Adele later shared in a Vogue interview that she and Paul had actually met years earlier at a party, where she was captivated by his energy. “I was a bit drunk and said, ‘Do you want to sign me? I’m an athlete now,’” she remembered, noting that Paul was the only one dancing while the others sat around.

In a November 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey, Adele praised Paul, calling him “hilarious” and “very smart.” She also mentioned that their relationship had helped her “love myself and be open to loving and being loved by someone else.”
