Yummy Hits Pure Miami
todayJanuary 9, 2025
nstagram is leveling up in 2025, and this update is packed with features that are gonna change the game for creators and casual users alike. From a total photo post glow-up to some throwback MySpace vibes, here’s the rundown—with a Magic City twist, of course.
Just like Reels, photo posts will now show views—but don’t freak out! You can disable this if you’re not feeling it.
Say goodbye to those classic square pics on your feed. Photos will now show up in a 4×5 rectangle, which means more room to show off your latest Wynwood street art shots or that epic ocean view at South Pointe.
Highlights bubbles? Gone. Instead, they’ll live in a new tab where the Reels tab is now. Streamlined vibes = less clutter.
Planning a big event like a night out in Brickell or brunch in Midtown? You can now schedule messages ahead of time. Literally game-changing.
You can now comment directly on people’s stories, and your comments will pop up when others view their stories. Perfect for hyping up your friends’ OOTDs or beach-day vibes in real time.
Instagram’s focusing on smaller creators on the For You page. So if you’ve been grinding and feeling overlooked, don’t quit—your Coconut Grove sunset pics might finally go viral.
Reels just got a remix—literally. Add multiple audio tracks to one Reel and take your Miami nightlife content to the next level.
Spilling tea in the DMs? Be careful—if you screenshot a photo someone sent, they’ll now get a notification. 👀
Stalking a private account? (Don’t lie—we’ve all done it.) You can now zoom in on profile pics, even if the account’s private.
Got an experimental idea for a Reel? Post it as a trial! It won’t hit your followers’ feeds but will show up on the For You page for non-followers. Instagram will even analyze its performance and let you know if it’s worth sharing with your audience.
Finally, Instagram is giving us iMessage energy with DM edits. Send a typo? Fix it. You can also pin your fave chats (aka your Miami squad) to the top of your DMs.
Cue the nostalgia—Instagram took a page from MySpace. Now you can add a song to your profile. Imagine curating the ultimate Miami soundtrack: Bad Bunny for the beach, Rosalía for late nights, or Pitbull (Mr. Worldwide) for when you’re feeling iconic.
With TikTok’s future still up in the air, this update is Instagram’s power move. So, whether you’re a creator, influencer, or just vibing, now’s the time to get strategic and embrace the new features.
