Selena Gomez Says “No Thanks” to Wedding Cake & We’re Lowkey Obsessed With Her Dessert Choice

July 30, 2025

Selena Gomez is so not doing the basic white-tiered cake thing at her wedding — and honestly? We love that for her.

In a TikTok posted by Rare Beauty on Saturday (July 26), Sel spilled some unexpectedly adorable tea about her wedding with Benny Blanco — specifically, what she wants on the dessert table. Spoiler alert: it’s not cake. It’s not cupcakes. It’s not even ice cream.

It’s… biscuits and gravy. 😭

“Whenever that day comes, I know I don’t want a big cake,” she said. “I think I’d want a mini one for just us that we can freeze. My preferred dessert would be biscuits and gravy. My nana’s biscuits and gravy — that sounds like dessert to me.”

The girl said comfort food over convention, and we respect it. 🤌

This is the first official crumb we’ve gotten about their wedding from Selena herself. So far, she and Benny have kept things super low-key. There’ve been whispers of a Montecito ceremony or even a backyard wedding, but neither has confirmed anything — classic secret soft launch energy.

What is confirmed? Selena wants Martin Short (aka her Only Murders in the Building bestie) to give a speech. And you know that’s gonna be iconic.

So to recap:

🍰 No giant wedding cake
🧂 Yes to Nana’s biscuits and gravy
🎤 Martin Short might be giving the toast of the century
💍 Sel and Benny are keeping everything else a mystery

TL;DR: Selena Gomez revealed she doesn’t want cake at her wedding with Benny Blanco — she wants her Nana’s biscuits and gravy instead. It’s giving main character with a Southern twist. Now all we need is an invite. 👀💒💖
