Jessie J Gets Real About ‘Frustrating’ Health Setback After Scary Hospital Trip
Jessie J is keeping it real (and sarcastic) after an unexpected hospital stay this past weekend. The “Domino” queen was rushed in after experiencing symptoms that doctors thought could be a blood clot — all while she’s still in recovery from breast cancer surgery earlier this year.
In true Jessie J style, she hit Instagram Stories with a mix of honesty and humor, telling fans:“I finally got a diagnosis of what’s been going on… apparently it’s called Dramatic? I think that’s the spelling.”
But behind the jokes, it’s been a rough ride. Jessie, who was diagnosed with breast cancer in April, revealed tests showed she has an infection and “a little fluid on my lungs.” Thankfully, it’s not a blood clot — but the exact cause of the infection is still a mystery. She’s now doing outpatient treatment.
“Six weeks past surgery, I was back in the same ward I was in after my surgery. Not expected or planned,” she shared. “The recovery physically is far from quick or easy, and mentally it’s been the most challenging time for me.”
The singer also opened up about the juggle between her health, being a mum to a toddler, and her career:
“It’s been frustrating… I’ve had to change my plans after working so hard to get to this point. But it’s life, I know that.”
Even with the setbacks, Jessie’s keeping her humor alive and her fans updated — because if there’s one thing she’s proven, it’s that she’s a fighter and a comedian in the same breath. 💪🎤
