The track follows her earlier releases “Pretty Ugly” and “Midnight Sun” this year, but this one hits different — it’s all about that messy in-between stage where a crush feels so real but also so wrong.
💭 What it’s about:
On the percussive pop anthem, Zara confesses that her new crush feels like it could “ruin” her life since it’s nothing more than a fantasy — one that’s distracting her from the love she already has. Relatable much? 👀
She even questions herself in the lyrics:
“Got me wonderin’ if it’s destiny / or am I just bein’ messy? All I know is I’m lovin’ the rush.”
But reality always hits: “I can’t lose him to a fantasy … it ain’t heartbreak, but it still hurts enough.”
