Louis Tomlinson is getting real about what it was like becoming a dad at a young age. During a recent Diary of a CEOpodcast appearance, the “Lemonade” singer reflected on welcoming his son Freddie with ex Briana Jungwirth when he was just 24.
While some new parents might have been nervous about such a huge life change, Louis says he felt nothing but confidence stepping into fatherhood. “I’ve always been uber excited about it even from like being a young young lad, but also truthfully, I felt utterly confident,” he shared. “I felt like I was going to be a good dad. I really really wanted to do that and to play that role.”
Now 33, Louis gushed about his 9-year-old son, calling him “just the sweetest kid” and “so kind.” He admitted he could even get emotional talking about him, saying Freddie’s personality makes him feel “deeply proud.”
The interview also took a heavier turn as Louis reflected on the tragic passing of his One Direction bandmate Liam Payne on October 16, 2024, who died at 31 after falling from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires.
Louis revealed he learned of Liam’s death from fellow 1D member Niall Horan, highlighting the shock and grief the band is still processing.
From celebrating fatherhood to mourning a close friend, Louis’s conversation on the podcast was equal parts heartfelt and reflective, showing the highs and lows of life in the spotlight.
