Kate Cassidy Claps Back at Critics Over Brand Trip on Liam Payne Anniversary
Kate Cassidy is speaking out after getting flak for going on a brand trip on the anniversary of her late boyfriend Liam Payne’s death. The influencer admitted it’s impossible to please everyone.
“I feel like no matter what I do, I get commentary,” she said. “If I make this video, people are going to be like, ‘Of course she had to make this video.’ Or if I didn’t make this video and just went on the trip, people would be like, ‘What is she doing? How is she not in bed crying?’”
Kate explained that staying busy is how she copes. “For me, lying in bed and doing nothing does absolutely nothing for my headspace. Keeping my mind active and positive is what helps me.” She added that she believes Liam would want her to keep moving rather than moping at home.
Initially hesitant to accept the trip, Kate was convinced by the fact that it was a “wholesome trip” with Pilates, brunches, and only a 20-minute drive from her apartment. She clarified she wouldn’t be doing anything on the actual anniversary itself, instead staying in to reflect privately.
Earlier, Kate shared a heartfelt video marking the last moments she spent with Liam in Argentina. “This video was taken during the last hour and last day Liam and I shared in this lifetime,” she wrote. “I am forever grateful for the beautiful moments we shared. I will miss you for the rest of my life, Liam.”
She also posted a black-and-white selfie of the couple, capturing a tender forehead kiss. Liam tragically passed at 31 after falling from a third-floor balcony in Buenos Aires, leaving fans and loved ones devastated.
