For the first time EVER, the FIFA World Cup Final is getting a halftime show… and it’s basically FIFA’s version of the Super Bowl.
FIFA officially announced that BTS, Shakira, and Madonna will headline the first-ever FIFA World Cup 2026 Halftime Show during the 2026 FIFA World Cup Final on July 19, 2026 at New York New Jersey Stadium.
And honestly? FIFA did not come to play with this lineup.
The historic halftime performance is being curated by Chris Martin from Coldplay, meaning fans are already expecting emotional moments, giant visuals, surprise collabs, and internet-breaking performances.
Unlike the Super Bowl, the FIFA World Cup Final has never had an official halftime concert before — which makes this a massive moment for both sports and pop culture. FIFA is clearly leaning into the huge entertainment factor that halftime shows bring, and they may have just created the global version of the Super Bowl halftime show.
The FIFA World Cup 2026 halftime show is already giving:
Fans online are especially freaking out over BTS performing at the World Cup, while Shakira returning to the FIFA stage feels iconic considering she’s been tied to some of the biggest World Cup songs ever.
And then there’s Madonna… because apparently FIFA wanted this halftime show to be as legendary and unpredictable as possible.
The FIFA World Cup Final halftime show will also support the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, which aims to raise $100 million for children’s education and football opportunities around the world. FIFA says $1 from every FIFA World Cup 2026 ticket sold will help fund social impact projects globally.
Shakira shared that the performance combines her passions for music and education, while BTS said music is a “universal language of hope and harmony.”
Also — and this genuinely sounds fake — FIFA confirmed that Sesame Street characters and The Muppets will appear during the show too.
So yes, the first-ever FIFA World Cup halftime show will somehow include:
The internet is absolutely going to lose it.
The FIFA World Cup 2026 Final takes place on July 19, 2026, and will air worldwide. If this is FIFA’s first attempt at a Super Bowl-style halftime show, they may have just set the bar ridiculously high.
