Drake and Morgan Wallen’s surprising connection over their past relationships takes a dramatic turn in the official music video for Drake’s track, “You Broke My Heart.”

Released on Wednesday, December 20, the video accompanies Drake’s song from the For All The Dogs Scary Hours Edition LP. Directed by Theo Skudra, it kicks off with Drake and Morgan sharing a meal, proudly discussing cutting ties with their former girlfriends. As they depart the restaurant, Drake drives with Wallen in the passenger seat. Their ex-partners, portrayed by Grace Matthews and Taylor Morris, intervene and trigger an explosion, reducing both artists to smithereens.

In the aftermath of the car engulfed in flames, the two main female characters engage in a dance sequence, mouthing the lyrics of Drake’s song before they encounter law enforcement. This video release follows just a few weeks after the 37-year-old rapper dropped the deluxe edition of his recent solo album. Additionally, it marks the inaugural collaboration between Drake and Wallen.

Wallen is not unfamiliar with the realm of rap. The country singer faced controversy two years ago when a leaked video showed him using racial slurs. Since then, Wallen has taken steps to make amends, drawing attention from artists like Lil Durk, who teamed up with him for “Broadway Girls” in 2021 and “Stand By Me” from Durk’s recent album Almost Healed. Moreover, Wallen featured Wiz Khalifa in a performance of “Black & Yellow” during his concert last September.
