Fresh off the announcement of a new musical chapter, Lil Nas X shares more exciting updates. On Thursday, January 4th, the rapper disclosed plans to release a documentary chronicling his 2022 tour, “Long Live Montero.”

“Great news, world! ‘Long Live Montero.’ Tour Doc on HBO MAX,” Lil Nas X tweeted, accompanied by a poster for the HBO Original production. Following this revelation, the chart-topper added, “BIG 2024!” while confirming that the film will be streaming on HBO MAX starting Saturday, January 27th.

The announcement of Lil Nas X’s “Long Live Montero” follows just one day after the rapper shared plans to release a new song later this month. Reflecting on his journey, he expressed, “I love this ongoing cycle the world has with me.” He reminisced about initial perceptions when he started making music, evolving from being labeled a “Twitter rapper” to creating the record-breaking hit. Despite past skepticism, he emphasized his consistent success with one of the most-streamed albums of the year featuring three top-five hits. Assertively, he concluded, “At some point, y’all gotta realize I am God’s favorite.”

The upcoming single, yet to be titled, marks Lil Nas X’s first release since “STAR WALKIN’” in September 2022, which coincided with the 2022 League World Championship. Prior to that, his last releases were part of his debut studio album “MONTERO” in 2021, boasting chart-toppers like “Industry Baby” and “Montero (Call Me By Your Name).”
