Camila Cabello tells the true cause of her split from Shawn Mendes
Camila Cabello recently joined Alex Cooper on Call Her Daddy to discuss various topics including breakups, toxic relationships, and her upcoming album. During the interview, she admitted to still being drawn to passionate (and potentially toxic) romances, despite not fully understanding why. She revealed her tendency to fall in love quickly and emphasized the importance of passion from the outset, admitting she struggles to give someone a second chance if the initial spark is absent. Cooper and Cabello agreed that finding genuine chemistry becomes increasingly rare with age and self-awareness. Despite having been in multiple long-term relationships, Cabello expressed her enjoyment of being single, particularly relishing the excitement of new beginnings in a relationship. Conversely, she shared her aversion to men lacking masculine energy and the ability to take charge when necessary.
“I’ve supported it in the past. I am not a person…you can’t forbid things from me because I will want to do it more. I’m like, if I want to text him, I’m going to text him.” Despite her inclination to reach out to former flames, Cabello emphasized the importance of recognizing when a relationship has run its course. After briefly rekindling her romance with ex Shawn Mendes, she realized they were in different stages of life and decided to part ways once again.
“It was a fun moment and I will always care about him and love him. He’s such a good person.” Despite their breakup, Mendes and Cabello remain friends and support each other. Reflecting on their relationship, Cabello urged others to prioritize self-love and follow their instincts rather than succumbing to the notion of the “right guy, wrong time.”
As for her upcoming album, Cabello teased that it will explore themes of self-discovery and returning to her roots. While an official release date and title are yet to be announced, fans can anticipate new music from the talented artist in the near future.
