Sabrina Carpenter’s new era is HERE and it’s already giving ✨savage, sparkly, slightly unhinged✨ energy — just how we like it. On Friday, the “Espresso” queen blessed us with her new single “Manchild”, and let’s just say… if you’ve ever been ghosted by a guy who can’t do his own laundry, this one’s for you.
In short? Useless men.
In long? Sabrina said we’re done playing nice.
“Never heard of self-care / Half your brain just ain’t there,”
she sings before dragging a man-shaped tornado of chaos in the chorus.
She even jokes about her impeccable taste in men:
“I like my men all incompetent… I swear they choose me, I’m not choosing them.”
Like?? Relatable. Terrifying. And absolutely iconic. 💅
Sabrina’s stuck on the side of the road, trying to hitchhike — and every guy who stops makes things worse. One literally leaves her for an armed robber. Another drives what can only be described as a literal La-Z-Boy on wheels. It’s giving satire, it’s giving “don’t talk to me unless you’ve been through therapy” energy.
Carpenter wrote “Manchild” with none other than Jack Antonoff and Amy Allen, and described the whole thing as “the best random Tuesday of my life.” A vibe. She called the song the “mental montage soundtrack” to her chaotic young adulthood and said it feels like a “loving eye roll” — aka the musical equivalent of texting your bestie, “You’re not gonna believe what he did this time.”
Oh, and she thanked men for “testing” her and inspiring this track. Dead.
Same. Sabrina said she dropped it just in time for summer so we can roll the windows down, let the messy ex energy go, and blast “Manchild” until every boy in a snapback feels personally attacked.
So grab your girls, cue the mental montage, and stream “Manchild” now on Yummy Hits Miami.
Because healing is temporary, but dragging men through clever lyrics is forever. 😌🎤
