During her performance at the United Center in Chicago, Olivia Rodrigo revealed exciting news to her fans: a special deluxe edition of her acclaimed 2023 album, “Guts,” is set to drop this Friday, March 22. Amidst singing “Get Him Back!” Rodrigo surprised the audience by unveiling a sign that read “Guts Deluxe Out Friday,” sparking cheers during the encore. Fans can already pre-save the deluxe edition on Spotify and Apple Music, with the pre-save website teasing the title as “Guts (Spilled).”

The upcoming deluxe edition of Olivia Rodrigo’s album “Guts” will boast five additional tracks, one of which is the entirely new song “So American,” recorded after the initial release of “Guts” last year. The other four songs are the previously “secret” tracks that Rodrigo discreetly included on various vinyl releases of “Guts,” later reissued as a special Record Store Day Black Friday release by Third Man Records: “Obsessed,” “Girl I’ve Always Been,” “Scared of My Guitar,” and “Stranger.”

“Guts,” released in September, served as Rodrigo’s highly-anticipated follow-up to her acclaimed 2021 debut album, “Sour.” Although “Guts” garnered Rodrigo numerous Grammy nominations, including nods for Album of the Year, as well as Record and Song of the Year for “Vampire,” she ultimately did not secure any wins.

In October 2023, Rodrigo graced the cover of Rolling Stone, where she delved into the creation process of “Guts” and the themes she sought to explore. Reflecting on the album, she described it as encapsulating the journey of growing up and navigating one’s identity in the world, with all the accompanying awkwardness. She expressed her sense of personal growth and maturation, stating, “I feel myself growing leaps and bounds.”
