Let’s gooo, South Florida! The Florida Panthers just made HISTORY, winning the Stanley Cup for the second year in a row after demolishing the Edmonton Oilers 5-1 in Game 6 on Tuesday night.
They’re the first team since Tampa Bay (2020-21) to repeat as champs and only the third to do it this century — yeah, dynasty talk is officially on the table. 👑🏒
But the real star of the night? Sam Reinhart, who went full legend mode and scored FOUR goals (yes, FOUR) in the final. That puts him in elite company — only six players in NHL history have done that in a Cup Final game, and the last one? Maurice freakin’ Richard in 1957. Insane.
When Reinhart nailed his third, it wasn’t just hats hitting the ice… it was rats too. 😭💀 If you know, you know — it’s a Florida Panthers tradition to chuck rubber rats onto the ice during big moments, and baby, the rats were flying.
And of course, it was Matthew Tkachuk who sealed the deal with the Cup-clinching goal. The man’s basically the face of the franchise, so it was only right he locked it in.
By the time the clock hit zero, the arena was a full-blown rat-throwing, champagne-popping, history-makingcelebration. The Panthers set another record too — they spent 255 minutes and 49 seconds in the lead this series, more than any other team in a Final ever.
From Sunrise to Wynwood, it’s about to be a wild week. Parade route? TBD. Vibes? Immaculate.
South Florida, your hockey team just went back-to-back — now that’s how you do it in the 305. 🐀🏆🖤
Let’s hear it loud: CATS WIN AGAIN.
