Miami’s Keralty Hospital is in shock after a staff member was allegedly caught on camera stealing a luxury Rolex from an elderly patient.

Yudier Sanchez, 46, was taken into custody Friday and now faces second-degree grand theft and exploitation of an elderly or disabled person charges.

Here’s what went down:

  • The 75-year-old patient was admitted on September 29, 2024
  • Hospital staff removed all her jewelry, including a $45,000 gold Rolex Presidential, documented it, and placed it in a yellow envelope for safekeeping

  • After the patient was discharged on October 7, her daughter noticed the Rolex was missing

Surveillance footage reportedly shows Sanchez entering the patient’s room with the envelope, taking a camera and jewelry, and then sneaking the Rolex into his jacket pocket — all while pretending to return it to the envelope. 👀

Sanchez was suspended by the hospital for breaking internal policies and denied the theft when questioned at arrest. Over the weekend, a judge set his bond at $10,000, and he remains in custody pending further proceedings.

Miami, yikes… trust no one with your Rolex, apparently. 😬
