Talk about a pop culture moment! Role Model made his Saturday Night Live debut on Oct. 11, performing two tracks from his deluxe album Kansas Anymore, including his Billboard-topping hit “Sally, When the Wine Runs Out.” But it was the performance of Sally that had fans losing it — and for good reason.
During the song, Role Model asked, “Where’s my Sally tonight?” and out popped none other than Charli XCX as the song’s iconic title character. The Grammy-winning pop superstar shocked the audience with a playful cameo, rocking a black leather skirt, dark sunglasses, and a “Max’s Kansas City” T-shirt, dancing her heart out before blowing him a kiss as she exited the stage.
This wasn’t the first time Role Model has been joined by a famous “Sally” during live performances. Previous surprise guests have included Natalie Portman, Olivia Rodrigo, Hilary Duff, Reneé Rapp, Kate Hudson, and Troye Sivan, who toured with Charli on their 2024 co-headlining Sweat Tour. But Charli’s SNL appearance definitely took the surprise factor to a whole new level.
Fans are already calling it one of the most memorable SNL musical moments of the season, and honestly, we can’t argue. Pop royalty, a Billboard hit, and a surprise cameo? That’s a whole vibe.
