Ice Spice has officially released the full version of the song that sparked a dramatic public reaction from Cardi B last month.
On Friday, November 7, the 25-year-old rapper shared her new single, “Pretty Privilege,” along with a self-directed accompanying music video. The video shows Ice Spice delivering her RIOTUSA-produced track from various settings, including inside a vehicle and a luxurious white mansion.
The track’s chorus contains the line that seemingly set off Cardi B: “She might talk shit on the ‘Gram, but she won’t talk it to my face.”
This lyric allegedly triggered a fiery rant from Cardi B last month, where she reportedly went off on Ice Spice’s team. In a leaked audio recording, Cardi B was heard screaming at Ice Spice’s manager, James Rosemond Jr:
“I’ma show y’all, I’m not Latto. I’ma beat her the fk up. I’ma knock her the fk out. All y’all. I’ma beat her ass. I’ma get Riot beat up by my nas. Y’all gonna see what the fk is up. Y’all think I’m f*king p*ssy-ass Latto?”
Cardi B’s outburst happened shortly after Ice Spice shared a teaser of “Pretty Privilege” on social media. While many fans were convinced the song was a response to a previous diss from Cardi B’s track “Magnet,” others believe Ice Spice’s line is actually aimed at another female rapper, Stunna Sandy, who has frequently been compared to her. The incident ultimately led to Cardi B issuing an apology to Latto for involving her in the heated spat.
