During the Miami Film Festival, Miami feels different. Instead of loud music and long lines, the week becomes softer and more intentional. Quiet theaters, thoughtful films, and more elevated nights.
If you’re planning to go, the key is to keep it simple. For starters, evening screenings are where you want to be.
- People are dressed up elegantly, the atmosphere is social but still relaxed, and it can easily turn into a fun night out afterward.
- It’s not hard to find films to watch, either. Romantic films are always my go-to, and international screenings tend to attract a more elevated crowd. If you want to look at showtimes or pick a screening ahead of time, check out the official festival schedule here 🎟️.
Now, what you wear is just as important. It should reflect the event: effortless, but put together.
- I’d probably lean toward a satin slip dress with strappy sandals, or jeans with a button-up sweater and kitten heels.
- Linen sets are also super cute! Here’s my favorite one that is currently on sale from Gap: the Relaxed Linen-Blend Set.
- Most importantly, don’t forget a sweater! The inside of theaters can be chilly, especially when it’s 80 degrees outside.
The best way to spend the film festival is by making a full night out of it.
- Start with a glass of wine or a light dinner. A lot of screenings are happening at the Silverspot Cinema, so if you’re nearby, check out Cactus Club Cafe. If you’re headed to Koubek, try Tumba’o.
- After the film, don’t rush home. Grab a dessert, a drink, or both 🤭.
Doesn’t that sound like the perfect night?! It’s a different version of Miami that feels slower, more intentional, and honestly more memorable.
Sometimes, the chicest plans really are the simplest ones ✨
