The clout-chasing era has hit another massive roadblock. Controversial YouTuber and Kick streamer Jack Doherty is officially back in handcuffs after being booked into the Broward County Main Jail on Friday, September 4, 2026. If you feel like you just read a mugshot update about him five minutes ago, you’re not tripping. This marks the 22-year-old’s second Florida arrest in under a year.
Here is everything we know about the situation, his growing list of legal troubles, and why the internet is collective-sighing once again.
Around 11:56 a.m. on Friday, Fort Lauderdale Police responded to a domestic disturbance call in the Riverside Park neighborhood (specifically the 1400 block of Southwest Fifth Court).
According to police reports, Doherty got into a physical altercation with an unnamed woman inside a residence. Authorities confirmed the woman was fortunately not injured.
Doherty, legal name Jack Cashin Doherty, was taken into custody and charged under Florida Statute 784.03-1a1 for misdemeanor domestic battery.
While the internet quickly started speculating on the timeline, sources close to Doherty immediately ran to TMZ claiming that his actions were strictly done in “self-defense.” Law enforcement has yet to confirm those claims as the investigation continues.
If this feels like a sequel nobody asked for, that’s because Doherty was literally arrested in South Florida just ten months ago.
Back in November 2025, Miami Beach police popped Doherty outside a smoke shop on South Beach. In that incident, bodycam footage caught officers booking him for:
Possession of a controlled substance (Adderall/amphetamine)
Possession of under 20 grams of marijuana
Resisting arrest without violence
That case was quietly resolved through a deferred prosecution program, letting him avoid severe trial consequences. But doubling down with a second arrest in the same state before the year is even out? That is not looking great for his legal team.
For anyone who managed to miss his rise on social media, Jack Doherty built a massive following on YouTube, TikTok, and Kick off aggressive pranks, loud flexing, and rage-baiting.
He previously sparked major internet outrage in late 2024 when he crashed his $200,000 custom McLaren on a highway during a live stream while reading chat on his phone. Viewers were furious after he handed his bleeding cameraman a phone to film him instead of immediately checking if he was okay—a moment that permanently branded him as one of the most toxic creators on live-streaming platforms and got his Kick account banned.
Between wrecking supercars for views, hiring personal security to start fights in public malls, and now racking up mugshots across Miami-Dade and Broward counties, Gen Z comment sections are officially declaring that his “clout at all costs” mentality has officially hit rock bottom.
Doherty remains in custody at Broward County Main Jail as details continue to unfold.
