Miami Marlins Shake Up, Gabe Kapler Named New General Manager

The Miami Marlins are making moves off the field. The team announced this afternoon that Gabe Kapler has been promoted to General Manager under President of Baseball Operations Peter Bendix. Kapler becomes the sixth GM in franchise history, previously serving as the team’s Assistant General Manager.

The Marlins are also reshuffling other key roles within their baseball operations department. Vinesh Kanthan will now take on the role of Senior Director of Baseball Operations, while Frankie Piliere has been promoted to Vice President of Amateur Forecasting and Player Evaluation Initiatives — a title that underscores the team’s growing focus on player development and data-driven scouting.

These changes mark a new era of leadership in Miami’s front office, signaling a continued push toward a more modern, analytics-forward approach as the Marlins look to build a stronger foundation for the future.
